TOKYO – Asian shares were mostly higher Tuesday amid doubts concerning the prospects for resolving the trade dispute between U.S. and China.
KEEPING SCORE: Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 gained 0.Three percent in morning trading to 22,273.82 and South Korea’s Kospi added 0.9 % to two,268.16. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 0.5 % to 27,729.63, and also the Shanghai Composite jumped 1.Four percent to 2,737.13. Shares were higher in Taiwan and Southeast asia but Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.9 % in order to six,288.60.
