A CIA official who played an instrumental role in organizing the summit between President Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un is stepping down.

Andrew Kim, who heads the CIA’s Korea Mission Center, has taken up a study post at Standford University, in accordance with an investigation from Yonhap News Agency.

Earlier this holiday season, Kim partcipated inside an Oval Office ending up in a senior North Korean Envoy and helped obama prepare in front of the June 12 summit with Kim Jong Un in Singapore.

He worked closely with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while director with the agency, as well, Kim also accompanied the secretary on all of his appointments with Korea.

Reports earlier this year indicate Kim acquired a secret vacation to South Korea to hold discussions between South and north officials, in front of planned talks amongst the president and Kim Jong Un early pick up.

According to Yonhap sources, Kim will more than likely continue assisting Pompeo with Korean Policy.
